iKAN Software is a leading provider of Document Imaging and Document Management technology based in Houston, Texas. In business for many years, iKAN Software specializes in software to capture paper documents and integrate them into the information flow of the business. We are a small, privately held organization that strives to provide meaningful solutions for each of its customers by solving their most critical challenges around the capture, storage, and disposition of their paper documents. We are looking for a Software Support and Development Analyst in the Houston, Texas geographical area. While software development experience is required, this is not a pure software development position. The successful candidate will have the ability to develop code where necessary in the application of solving customer stated objectives and based on understanding and articulating customer requirements but also provide support, installation, configuration and training. The expected qualifications for the job include:
- Experience with business problem solving using document capture technology, and being able to communicate solutions in a customer facing environment
- Experience and technical understanding of document capture, or document management based solutions
- Software programming and development experience in Microsoft .NET and C#
- Ability to demonstrate logic in developing software solutions to customer requirements
- Strong work ethic and desire to keep up with new and emerging technologies
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, take on problems and research solutions
- Have a passion for excellence and be willing to contribute as a team player
Other Requirements
- A bachelors degree or equivalent work experience, preferably in the computer sciences field
- C# programming language experience, 2+ years
- Exposure to a major database platform, such as Oracle or MS SQL Server, 2+ years
- Good writing and verbal communication skills
- Experience and knowledge of the Houston, Texas marketplace and currently resides in the area
This is mid-level entry position (at least 2+ years real work experience, 5 years preferred) that will report to the Director, Advanced Data Capture Solutions. iKAN Software will provide training on specific areas relative to technology we develop and deploy. Job location is a mix of work from home, in the office, and at customer sites. We do NOT wish to be contacted by employment agencies for this position.
